Your dreams of nesting in the trees like a bird may soon become reality. The acclaimed Blue Forest treehouse consultants just unveiled plans for Nesting, an incredible multi-million pound treehouse and lodge development that lets you reconnect with nature inside giant bird nest-like treehouses. The idyllic and eco-sensitive getaway will be nestled within the beautiful Robin Hill Country Park on the UK’s Isle of Wight.
Surrounded by stunning views across the Robin Hill valley, Nesting will comprise 13 natural treehouses, 11 timber-framed lodges, and 40 seasonal-use glamping tents. Blue Forest’s timber treehouse design is inspired by the amazing and elaborate nests built by the Weaver birds. “Each treehouse will be positioned slightly differently within the woodland, perhaps rotated, sunken down within the valley or lifted up in the surrounding tree canopy,” said Andy Payne, Founder of Blue Forest. “Like a cluster of fruit, the treehouses appear similar but not identical. They have been created to complement each other and will really come into their own when viewed collectively, sitting harmoniously within the landscape.”
Blue Forest will work in collaboration with Tate Harmer to minimize the building footprint on the country landscape. The curvaceous treehouses will be almost entirely clad in sustainably sourced, premium-grade cedar shingles, which will weather over time and develop a natural silvery grey patina. The use of cedar will also help the structures blend into the natural surroundings.

The Nesting project was also conceived to boost the island’s tourism program, which currently includes the award-winning Electric Woods. Nesting is slated to open Spring 2018. Phase two of Nesting will include 9 additional treehouses and 17 more timber-framed lodges.
