There are three headlines during this week. China’s National Energy Administration (NEA) announced a revision of the nation’s solar installation target by raising it from 15GW to 17.8GW. The latest announcement again introduced advanced policies for distributed generations, representing China’s ambition to achieve its goal.
The second headline is about the potential of emerging markets. Egypt, a country which has been suffering from power outrage in the summer and energy crisis in recent years, successfully signed 5GW of solar development agreements with several solar companies. In addition, JinkoSolar decided to build a PV cell & module manufacturing facility in Malaysia. This is not only for JinkoSolar to offer more price-competitive products in the globe, but also for Malaysia to prompt domestic solar development.
Japan is the third one. Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) officially announced fiscal year 2015’s feed-in tariff schemes for renewable energies. Unsurprisingly, the tariffs for solar have been cut. Although the lower incentives might impact the Japanese solar market, the strong demand to residential PV systems would remain.
