The Boy Scout motto is ‘always be prepared.’ That’s good advice for everyone, not just the scout troops of America. This DIY stove is a great way to do that. It could save your bacon in a pinch. I want to make some of these! They will be great for camping or a survival kit.
This stove takes two soda cans, fiberglass insulation, and heat or a type of denatured alcohol substance. Be sure to wear gloves . It only takes handling fiberglass one time to remember that it makes you all itchy. These will bring water to a boil in just a few minutes and get super hot. Great for cooking! They are very similar to a fondue burner.
There are other DIY camping stove options out there. Like this one from Modern Bushman . It’s larger, using an old coffee can. There is more than one way to skin a cat (what a gross old saying) and there is more than one way to build a camping/survival/mini stove.
Still not a believer? The Soda Can Stove has attacked the rumors, myths, and lies surrounding these little stoves and I think you will be happy with the answers.
Here’s the video… Enjoy!
