The second-generation Chevy Volt was all-new for the 2016 model year, but Chevy is already working on a long list of new upgrades for the 2017 Volt. According to a new report, the 2017 Chevy Volt will get new technology that will help it emit fewer emissions and adaptive cruise control to make it even easier to drive, along with smart braking and lane-keeping technology.
According to Cars Direct, the 2017 Volt will emit fewer emissions to help it meet the stricter Federal Tier 3 emissions rules, though Chevy hasn’t announced what updates the 2017 Volt has received to achieve that goal. The other big update will be the availability of adaptive cruise control on top trim levels, which is a mild form of autonomous self-driving technology. The system will also include lane keeping and low-speed automatic braking technology.

Lastly, availability of the 2016 Volt was very limited to only a few states, like California. The 2017 Volt will be much easier to get, since it will be available nationwide, starting in spring 2016. Pricing for the 2017 Volt is expected to increase by about $100 compared to the 2016 model.
