Bangladeshi garment workers speak out against intimidation and violence

A new International Labor Rights Forum report has revealed a shocking amount of abuse, intimidation, and violence faced by Bangladeshi garment workers everyday in the country’s billion-dollar apparel industry. In Our Voices, Our Safety: Bangladeshi Garment Workers Speak Out, the nonprofit interviewed over 70 people who describe the threats on their health and livelihoods by factory managers. Many of the world’s leading apparel brands outsource work to Bangladeshi garment factories, including Gap and Walmart.
