Faraday Future reveals an insane 1,000 horsepower electric car at CES

With over 1,000 horsepower, a 0-60 mph time of less than three seconds and a top speed over 200 mph, Faraday Future has unveiled its impressive FFZERO1 super car concept at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. Why is it being unveiled at CES, rather than next week’s Detroit Auto Show? Rather than get its motivation from a large gas-powered engine, Faraday Future’s concept is a technological dream with its quad core electric powertrain.

Who is Faraday Future? Over the past 18 months California-based Future Faraday has started from the ground up to “redefine the automotive experience by delivering seamlessly connected electric vehicles & future mobility solutions that will fit the needs of tomorrow’s population.” With more than 400 employees that includes former leaders from BMW and Tesla, Faraday Future has huge ambitions to change the future of the automotive industry and take on other electric rivals, like Tesla.

Faraday Future (FF) is giving the world a glimpse of how it intends to forever change the automotive industry with the FFZERO1 concept. Starting with the new Variable Platform Architecture (VPA), which will be the basis for all of the automaker’s models. Rather than create several costly platforms, the single VPA platform gives Faraday Future the flexibility to create several models that could have one, two or three electric motors. The battery also rides between the wheels and is comprised of a string of batteries.

Inside the FFZERO1 features a steering column that has its own smartphone and a unique Halo Safety System that provides oxygen and water to the driver. Lastly the concept can also drive itself and even pick up its driver. It’s amazing that it only took Faraday Future 18 months to develop the FFZERO1.

The debut of the FFZERO1 follows Faraday Future’s announcement to build a new $1 billion production facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
