When their son Fletcher was born eight years ago, Cherilynne and Ashley Kemp decided it was time to move from their apartment into a house with a yard. “We soon fell in love with the beachside suburb of Edithvale,” Cherilynne says, “as Ash is a keen kitesurfer and we both paddleboard.”
The house that was to become their home was a tired yellow-brick box with a lot of wear and tear and small rooms, definitely in need of some major attention. “It was the size that initially attracted us to the house, and we could see the potential to renovate the house to more open-plan style,” Cherilynne says. “Straight away I loved the high ceilings and wide hallway.”
