Ikea Australia is hosting a contest on Facebook to choose one lucky winner (and a friend) to spend the night in “the ultimate Ikea Harbour Home,” a ferry-turned-houseboat appointed throughout with items sold in Ikea stores. The global retailer of flat-pack furniture will transform an iconic ferry in Sydney Harbor into a cozy houseboat where two Ikea fans will enjoy a night of sightseeing, Snapchatting, and probably some Swedish meatballs. The contest is open to entries until October 5, 2016.
This is not the first outlandish contest giveaway hosted by Ikea Australia. The chain held a previous stunt in 2014, wherein a contest winner was awarded with the opportunity to sleep in an Ikea store for one night. (These days, you can simply rent a night in one of Australia’s Ikea stores via Airbnb.) Although anyone who has been lost in the maze of an Ikea store for more than a few hours can relate to the desire to curl up in the bedroom department for a nap, the chance to spend the night in an Ikea-decorated ferry is on a whole other level. This new contest requires entrants to upload a photo or video (or simply tell Ikea a story) that illustrates “what you love about your life at home” in exchange for a chance at a memorable night floating in Sydney Harbor. Sounds fair.

Ikea hasn’t performed the transformation yet, but the cartoonish mockup released hints at a layout somewhat resembling a cozy hotel room or studio apartment. The space will almost certainly including multiple lounging options in the form of Ikea’s compact sofas, a small dining area, and of course, a bed.
The contest is open only to Australian permanent residents over 18 years of age, and Ikea has made it clear that this is contest is a game of skill, not chance. The winner will be chosen based on the creativity and quality of their entry submission, as well as the results of interviews with finalists.
