Houzz Call: Show Us Your Backyard Rain Barrel (3 photos)

Depending on how much water you plan to collect and what you’d like to make your barrel from, assembling and installing a rain barrel can take no more than an afternoon. And, depending on what type of container you choose, the project can cost as little as $50 to $100.

Here, Evan Marks, founder and executive director of the nonprofit Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano, California, demonstrates how to attach a DIY rain barrel to a rain gutter downspout.

Your turn: Show us your rain barrel, if you’ve already installed one at your home. Upload your photos in the Comments.
