The first thing you might notice about the new Chrysler model is its name. The Town & Country name dates back to the mid-1980s for Chrysler’s minivan, but now it is being replaced with the name Pacifica. The Chrysler Pacifica will easily top the minivan class with the 115 innovations that Chrysler has added, with the biggest being the new available plug-in hybrid system.

Chrysler hasn’t released all the final details for the Pacifica Hybrid, but has revealed the plug-in hybrid system features a 3.6L V6 and two electric motors. The electric motors get their power from a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery and the Pacifica is estimated to be capable of traveling up to 30 miles in electric mode. In city driving, it is expected to achieve an efficiency rating of 80 MPGe. Charging the battery will take up to two hours using a 240-volt outlet.

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is expected to arrive in the second half of 2016.
