Delta V is the first hybrid-energy independent smart phone

‘Delta V’ is the first hybrid-energy independent mobile phone. The phone charges using 3 different ways of charging directly on the cell phone’s housing: a photovoltaic film, a piezoelecic film and a triboelectric film. The nanogenerators under the films convert even the slightest vibrations and movements into power for the phone’s functions, so that no charger is needed.
The packaging for the phone is a small book with a case for the phone inside, so it can be stored or used to store other small things on a bookcase. What is noticeably lacking from the packaging is the usual charger that comes with every other phone out there, since it never needs one.

The project was developed by Niki D. Chania (Neda Design), a mechanical engineer and industrial designer, during her studies at AKTO Art & Design School in Athens.
