The National Park Service is turning 100 this year! In celebration of our nation’s second century of stewardship, Airstream teamed up with Pendleton Woolen Mills to create 100 limited edition travel trailers that are perfect for touring the grand National Parks in comfort and style. The gorgeous tiny mobile homes are fully equipped with off-grid capability and are specially crafted to capture the essence of America’s Great Outdoors.
While we’ve seen many great Airstreams on Inhabitat, this trailer has a special place in our heart because it’s designed to pay tribute to our nation’s parks. For every limited edition travel trailer sold, Airstream will also make a $1,000 donation to the National Park Foundation to help protect and preserve America’s beloved landscapes.
Each Airstream is clad in its iconic polished aluminum skin, however, the interior looks more like a cozy cabin. Naturally finished hardwoods dominate the travel trailer’s open-plan layout, while a rear sport hatch frames panoramic views and allows for easy loading and unloading of oversized equipment such as bicycles and kayaks. The 236-square-foot trailer sleeps up to six in three sleeping areas: the spacious queen-sized bed; a lounge that doubles as a bed; and a seating/dinette area that transforms into a bed. The trailer also comes with a fully equipped galley kitchen with a seven-cubic-foot fridge, 3 burner cooktop, oven, and microwave; a shower with a water heater; a 39-gallon fresh water tank; gray water and black water tanks; AC and furnace; and an optional solar package.

Every limited edition Airstream will also come with a fantastic Pendleton accessory kit designed to capture the spirit of the Great Outdoors with its earthy colors and patterns. All areas of the trailer will be outfitted with Pendleton products, from the dining area’s Grand Canyon napkins and enamel dinner set to the bedroom’s cozy blankets made from Cradle to Cradle-certified Eco-Wise wool. The list price for the 2016 Limited Edition Pendleton National Park Foundation Airstream Travel Trailer is $114,600 and they will be sold at retail locations in the U.S. until December 31, 2018, or until all 100 trailers are sold.
